Small Grant Deadline Extension & COVID-19 ProvisionsApril 08, 2020 | By Patti
Houston LISC GO Neighborhoods has extended the deadline for small grant applications until April 15, 2020 and has modified the application slightly to include provisions for funding projects in response to COVID-19 needs. We understand the pandemic puts many projects in a precarious position, so we are taking this one day at a time and asking everyone to think creatively, have backup plans for shifting dates/events, and include virtual gatherings inasmuch as possible.
Due to the COVID-19 response and social distancing regulations, many of the typical activities we fund during our regular Small Grants cycle face challenges. Houston LISC wants to be flexible about this and look forward to supporting ideas and proposals that address remote community engagement, outreach activities, organizational communications, and volunteer coordination that avoids group gatherings. For this purpose we are waiving the No Hard Goods/ No software restriction for small grants that primarily address COVID-19 needs. Hard goods ownership is limited to nonprofit organizations that apply. We understand how important is to keep a safety net for communities and want to offer this as an option.
