On June 11, 2010, we hosted the last of a series of six meetings to engage stakeholders about community revitalization. More than 200 people have come out and shared their ideas and aspirations about community renewal. Partners Day brought out some highly visible partners including Urban Harvest, Houston Police Department, Harris County Flood Control District, City of Houston Public Works and Engineering, District H, Houston Independent School District and many more. Together, community members and partners were able to solidify a plan that include short and long term goals and strategies.
Through the work of GO Action Councils, teams worked diligently to create projects that will be implemented over the next few years. Partners Day concluded a critical phase in the GO Program Initiative that involved community engagement and creating a “Quality of Life” plan. The next phase of the initiative includes implementing projects and strengthening community investment.
