Avenue CDC Overview and History

Avenue CDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing Houston’s Washington Avenue and Near Northside Community by developing affordable housing and economic opportunities, while preserving our area’s economic, cultural, and historical diversity. In the last eight years, Avenue CDC has helped to revitalize our community by leveraging over $60 million in investments, including our development of 105 single-family homes and 599 rental units.

Avenue CDC’s mission is to improve our community by developing affordable housing and increasing economic opportunities, while preserving our area’s cultural, economic, and historic diversity. GO Neighborhoods Program Coordination
Avenue CDC was nominated by the group to serve as the convening agency. Key participants at the time of nomination included: Blocks on Neighborhood Defense (BOND), Wesley House, Council Member Adrian Garcia’s Office, The City of Houston’s Health and Human Services and Greater Northside Management District as well as host of residents from Near Northside. GO Neighborhoods continues to partner with many dozens of groups and individuals in the Northside Community.
